Today I went into Forever 21 to pick up some jean shorts, while browsing I couldn't help but to play dress up with the plethora of accessories that they have. Wallets, sunglasses, bracelets and wait...what??? scarves? Then I realized that I have, indeed, seen beautiful women all around the hot/muggy city sporting what I can only describe as a summer scarf! I'm baffled by this complete oxymoron! It is hot! It is sweaty! You are barely wearing anything covering your T&A, but you can't forget to cover up your neck?? What are you hiding under that thing?? I simply don't understand this summer scarf trend, and I really don't like it at all. Scarves are for when it's so cold outside that without it you can hardly breath. It's finally summer and instead of embracing it we are reminiscing about miserable winter with a scarf!!!

Please to all that love their summer scarves can't you wear them some other way? Maybe around your hips like a belt? Or just stuff it in your bag and use it as a sweat rag! These are just a few suggestions that seem more practical to me, but I'm sure you can get creative too!

When I saw this girl on face hunter and I knew I had a moral duty to post this picture. I love love love a girl in a leather jacket! The whole look pays homage to the 50's and 60's without over doing it with too much kitsch and camp. The only part that bothers me are the shoes, I think it's the peep toe. But over all, I love it and will probably attempt to recreate it sans black stockings cause it's just too damn humid in nyc.

Hello From California!

I have delayed guest blogging on this site for many reasons which are listed below:

1) I have not written anything of quality for almost 2 years, unless you include some witty text messages but even then I have yet to learn the difference between there and their, therefore (or is it theirfour?) if I must use that T-word in a witty text and misuse it I sound like an idiot. Moral of the story is I only have witty banter in short bursts, hate big words, and typing in general, and therefore blogging is not for me.

2) I have very few "new" bands I can claim as my own indie "find" to ad to the blogosphere. I am still listening to the early Bright Eyes and Death Cab albums while crying in my parents basement. I am disconnected with the cool kids world and therefore cannot pass off someone else's tastes as my own and therefore impress those not fortunate enough to live in a booming metropolis.

3) I do not consider my current life interesting enough to post online for all to read. I have taken a picture of a tree numerous times in the past few days, because I think it is beautiful. If this is the highlight of my week then why would I have anything worthwhile to contribute to the World Wide Web.

Negativity aside life is cool. I moved to California for the summer and have four of the best roommates a guy could ask for. I live with Meredith and George, a middle aged married couple whom I share many interests and can have good dinnertime talks with, and Preston and Buck, two guys lacking proper intelligence but with the best intentions and they make great cuddle companions.

My days are filled with Vicodin induced ideas of photographing trees and the occasional cigar butt. I am glad this is my new idea of fun because I feel New York skews your perception of reality and forces you into thinking going out is the only way to enjoy yourself. I have also taken advantage of right hand turns on red and copious highways to drive dangerously fast on my new motorcycle (my top speed to date it 168mph but I'm looking to break the 180 mark by summers end.)

I do miss New York and look forward to returning but I am glad I took this much needed break. More information and progress of my boring but great summer will follow.

I just got the new nylon with mk on the cover and the issue is pretty good, but her article is pretty stale and expected. I was wondering if she translated the same in video and although it did I was pretty amazed to hear the song in the background sounded strangely familiar. Then I realized that I heard this song in the opening act at the Morrissey concert. This group is appropriately named girl in a coma. Their an all girl group comprised of family and close friends, and I found them adorable and entertaining. They did a great job considering the pressure that they must have felt. Well I'm happy that they are getting recognition from Nylon and hopefully it will continue.

These pictures are of April and Jake's kittens. Unfortunately while everyone else was dressed up, getting wasted and ending up in ex bf/gf apartments.... April was busy in kitty hospital after Jake's cat fell off the kitchen counter! Yeah that whole saying about cats landing on their feet might be true but it doesn't mention breakin' legs.

It has been a while since my last post, not really. But some people or rather i say some person was growing impatient. So here are some pictures from the week before Halloween weekend as well as some pictures of everyone dressed up. Enjoy!

Going to the pub for happy hour on Thursdays is a bad idea all around for me. I end up passing out in Simon's bed after verbally harassing people who don't remember me from high school.

These are from Friday night. Everyone was so excited to dress up and let loose that by Saturday everyone was burnt out and I had to travel to Brooklyn all by myself. But it's all good! I hung with Andy! and we danced like crazy banshees at 3rd ward.
